What is Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery?
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery includes a variety of procedures involving the teeth, mouth, jaws and face. This dental and medical specialty targets diseases, injuries and defects of the hard and soft tissue of the oral and facial region. As part of an oral and maxillofacial surgeon’s training, “cross-training” in other specialties is necessary.
