Mini Implants
Mini Implants are a type of dental implant that are approximately half the size of a regular dental implant. While the indications for these type of implants are limited, they can can offer some unique benefits. For example, if an implant needs to be placed in extremely narrow bone, mini implants may be selected to avoid bone grafting.
The main use for mini implants is to install a full upper or lower denture. Mini implants may require 4 to 6 implants (as compared to 2 regular implants) placed along the gum line. The goal is to allow your prosthesis to snap in and fit to these attachments to stabilize your denture.
If you are considering improving the stability of your denture, implants will likely offer a wonderful solution.
